Poor families handed Rs 49.50 lakh as housing subsidy
Puducherry, Sept 8: Welfare and Tourism Minister P Rajavelu on Wednesday handed Rs 1.5 lakh to each of 33 poor families under housing subsidy scheme to enable them replace huts with concrete structures.
A release from the office of the Welfare Minister said the families residing in Embalam reserved constituency were being covered under the subsidy scheme evolved by the government and operated by the Department of Adi Dravidar Welfare.

The Minister disbursed a total sum of Rs 49.50 lakh.
He also handed a cash relief of Rs 12,000 to each of the 35 persons to enable them to take treatment for the ailments the beneficiaries were suffering from.
