Police and Local MLA Intervene After Cow Remains Discovered Outside Temple in Lucknow
On Friday evening, tension arose in Lucknow's Madeyganj area after locals discovered suspected cow remains outside a temple. The incident caused outrage among residents, but swift intervention by police and the local MLA helped control the situation. According to the Lucknow Police Commissionerate, authorities were alerted about a cow's head found near the temple in the Madeyganj police station area.

Officers promptly arrived at the scene, ensuring the remains were removed following legal procedures and restoring order. "Religious sentiments were taken into account and the situation remains peaceful," stated the police. BJP MLA Neeraj Bora of Lucknow North mentioned he rushed to the location upon hearing about the incident near Hanumant Nagar Shanti Vatika in Khadra.
Investigation Underway
Police have launched a thorough investigation into the matter, analysing CCTV footage from nearby areas and forming specialised teams to solve the case. Scientific and technical evidence is being collected, with stringent legal action promised once those responsible are identified. "The incident was a major conspiracy to disturb communal harmony," Bora stated, assuring that culprits will face consequences.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Manisha Singh issued a video statement confirming that senior officials immediately reached the spot after being informed. Arrangements were made for the removal of remains, and a veterinary doctor is being consulted for a post-mortem examination. To maintain law and order, PAC Provincial Armed Constabulary and police personnel have been deployed in the area.
Maintaining Peace
Authorities have urged residents to maintain peace and harmony, cautioning against spreading rumours or provocative messages through social media or other platforms. Police have advised citizens to verify any information with local authorities before sharing it further. This measure aims to prevent misinformation from escalating tensions.
The police's swift response and ongoing investigation highlight their commitment to resolving this sensitive issue while ensuring community safety. By addressing religious sentiments and deploying additional security forces, authorities aim to maintain peace in the area during this challenging time.
