Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to celebrate his 74th birthday on September 17, and across India, various events and activities are being organized to mark the occasion.

From grand gestures of social service to unique celebrations in different states, here's a glimpse of how PM Modi's birthday will be celebrated this year.

1. Veg Langar at Ajmer Sharif Dargah

One of the most significant events will take place at the historic Ajmer Sharif Dargah, where 4,000 kilograms of vegetarian "Langar" will be prepared and distributed. This continues a tradition over 550 years old, as a gesture of service in honor of the Prime Minister's birthday. According to the Dargah authorities, this initiative aligns with the "Sewa Pakhwada" and will utilize the "Big Shahi Deg" to prepare the food for distribution.

2. Auto Rickshaw Discounts and Free Rides in Surat

In Gujarat, PM Modi's home state, residents will enjoy a range of discounts and free services. BJP leader Purnesh Modi announced that 2,500 local businesses in Surat will offer discounts from 10% to 100% on a variety of products. Auto-rickshaw drivers are also getting involved, with 110 rickshaws offering 100% free rides on September 16, one day ahead of the Prime Minister's birthday. Raju Bhandari, the Auto Union president, said that drivers will be giving free rides as a form of service (seva) to celebrate PM Modi's contributions to the country.

Surat's shopping scene is buzzing with excitement as many stores have joined in on the birthday festivities. Local businesses will offer substantial discounts to shoppers. With festivals also taking place, many customers have expressed enthusiasm about combining the festive shopping experience with these special discounts.

4. Unique Birthday Tribute from Tamil Nadu

In Chennai, a creative tribute to PM Modi will be on display. Presley Shekinah, a 13-year-old school student, is creating a portrait of the Prime Minister using grains and lentils. This intricate work of art took the young artist 12 hours to complete and is one of the unique ways people are celebrating Modi's legacy.

5. PM Modi to Launch the 'Subhadra Yojana' in Odisha

The highlight of PM Modi's birthday celebration will be his visit to Odisha, where he will officially launch the 'Subhadra Yojana.' This initiative, aimed at empowering women, will provide an initial financial grant of ₹5,000 to 1 crore 30 lakh women across the state. BJP MP Sambit Patra stated that this fulfills PM Modi's "Modi Guarantee" promise made during the election campaign in Odisha, wherein women were assured a sum of ₹50,000 over five years.

6. Housing Initiatives in Odisha

During his visit to Odisha, PM Modi will also inaugurate several housing projects. He will hand over keys to beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) and launch the 'Awaas 2024 App,' a digital platform aimed at streamlining housing-related services. Schools and colleges in Bhubaneswar will remain closed for the day to accommodate the Prime Minister's visit.
