PM Modi To Hit Campaign Trail In J&K's Doda With Historic Rally Today
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to campaign in Doda, Jammu & Kashmir, bolstering BJP's electoral chances. This marks the first visit to Doda by a PM in 42 years, amidst tight security and anticipation.
Amid tight security arrangements, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hit the poll campaign trail in support of his party candidates on Saturday by addressing a mega rally in Jammu and Kashmir's Doda district on Saturday. It is for the first time that a PM is visiting to Doda in 42 years.
Multi-tier security has been deployed across Doda and Kishtwar districts, especially around the rally venue at Doda town stadium. Union Coal and Mines Minister G Kishan Reddy stated, "Prime Minister Modi will hold his first election meeting in Doda tomorrow. This will be a significant event as it marks the first visit of any Prime Minister to Doda in 42 years."

Boosting Electoral Prospects
The rally aims to energise BJP cadres and candidates ahead of voting for eight Assembly seats in the Chenab Valley districts of Doda, Kishtwar, and Ramban on September 18. BJP leaders are optimistic that Modi's visit will enhance their electoral chances significantly.
During the 2014 Assembly elections, PM Modi addressed a BJP poll rally in Kishtwar district. Since then, residents of Doda have eagerly awaited his return. The party is contesting all 43 Assembly seats in the Jammu division, where it previously held 25 MLAs.
Security Measures
To ensure a peaceful rally, extensive security measures have been implemented across the twin districts of Doda and Kishtwar. The security arrangements aim to facilitate a smooth conduct of the election rally at the stadium in Doda town.
The Jammu region has traditionally been a stronghold for BJP, which won all its 25 seats from this area during the 2014 Assembly polls in the former state of Jammu and Kashmir. Voting for the J-K Assembly elections will occur in three phases: September 18, September 25, and October 1. Vote counting is scheduled for October 8.
Recent Campaign Activities
Home Minister Amit Shah addressed a poll rally in Jammu last Saturday, while Defence Minister Rajnath Singh held another rally in Ramban district on Sunday. These events are part of BJP's broader strategy to consolidate support ahead of the upcoming elections.
This election is particularly notable as it is the first since Articles 370 and 35A were abrogated. It also marks the first Assembly election in J&K in a decade.
The Prime Minister's visit is expected to galvanise support among voters and strengthen BJP's position as they prepare for crucial elections in this politically significant region.
