PM Modi Says Congress Will Not Win Even 50 Seats In Lok Sabha; Double Engine Govt In Odisha Soon

Addressing a sea of supporters in Odisha's Phulbani, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday claimed that the Congress will not win even 50 seats in the Lok Sabha elections 2024. He said that the grand old party will not be able to get opposition party status this time.

"India has made up their mind that NDA will cross 400 (in Lok Sabha). The people of Congress must note that the country has now decided that on June 4 they won't get the seats that are needed to be the opposition, they will be limited below 50 seats."

Congress Will Not Win Even 50 Seats

Taking on Mani Shankar Aiyar for his controversial 'Pakistan possesses atom bomb' remark, PM Modi said Congress is using fearmongering tactics.

He said instead of backing our own Indian Army, Congress is supporting and praising Pakistan.

Modi also ridiculed Pakistan's economic condition, pointing out its struggle to attract buyers despite possessing nuclear capabilities, attributing this to the perceived inferior quality of its goods.

Wooing the people, PM Modi asserted that a "double engine" government will be formed in the state and "a son or daughter of the soil who understands Odia language and culture" will be made the chief minister of the BJP government.

Recalling the achievements of the previous BJP government at the Centre under Atal Bihari Vajpayee, he said that on this day 26 years ago, Pokhran tests had enhanced the image of the country across the globe. He also asserted that his government ended 500 years of people's wait by building Ram temple in Ayodhya.

Earlier on May 5, PM Modi said that June 4 is going to be the expiry date of Odisha's Naveen Patnaik government. He claimed that a new BJP chief minister will take oath on June 10.

He had said that the Odisha government does not care about the welfare of women. "The Centre provides assistance of ₹ 6,000 to every pregnant woman. You will be surprised that the Odisha government has suspended this important scheme," he said.

"The Centre sent ₹ 10,000 crore rupees for Jal Jeevan Mission. The government here could not even spend that money. Modi sends money to build roads in rural areas, but the roads here are in bad shape. Modi sends money for free rice, the BJD government sticks its own photograph on the packets," PM said.
