The singer had been taken to the ICU on Saturday night, following cardiac and respiratory complications. Hospital staff treated Asha Bhosle through the night, but Asha Bhosle did not recover.

Asha Bhosle’s son, Anand Bhosle, confirmed the death on Sunday afternoon and shared details of the final rites. Anand Bhosle told reporters: "She passed away today. Those who wish to pay their last respects can visit her residence tomorrow at 11 am. The last rites will be performed tomorrow at 4 pm at Shivaji Park," ensuring admirers of Asha Bhosle could plan their farewell.
