Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with ISRO Chief S. Somanath and other scientists of the ISRO team involved in the Chandrayaan-3 mission at the ISRO Telemetry Tracking & Command Network Mission Control Complex in Bengaluru on Saturday morning. He congratulated them for the successful landing of the Vikram lander on the lunar South Pole on August 23.

ISRO Chairman S. Somanath briefed PM Modi on the developments of Chandrayaan-3 on his arrival in Bengaluru on Saturday.

Modi also held a road show in Bengaluru ahead of his visit to the ISRO Telemetry Tracking & Command Network Mission Control Complex to meet with the ISRO team.

Upon his arrival at the complex, Modi hugged ISRO Chairman S. Somanath and met with other scientists. He also clicked pictures with the team.

PM Modi had flown down to Bengaluru directly from Athens, Greece, where he had been attending a summit. He said that he was "overjoyed" by the success of the mission and that it was a "historic moment" for India.
