PM Modi LIVE: Pakistan Requested DGMO-Level Talks On May 10 After Facing Heavy Losses

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the nation at 8 PM on Monday, marking his first public statement since the military confrontation between India and Pakistan erupted last week following the launch of Operation Sindoor. The strike operation was initiated by the Indian armed forces in retaliation for the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam that claimed 26 lives, primarily tourists. While the initial briefings were led by Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri and military officials, all eyes are now on the Prime Minister's address this evening.

PM Modi LIVE To Address Nation at 8 PM Today

The Prime Minister's speech comes just two days after India and Pakistan agreed to halt all military actions across land, air, and sea. This ceasefire understanding followed four days of intense cross-border hostilities, raising fears of escalation. Director General of Military Operations Lt Gen Rajiv Ghai confirmed that 35-40 Pakistani military personnel were killed during the strikes and asserted that India successfully achieved its operational goals. Lt Gen Ghai is expected to hold further talks with his Pakistani counterpart later today, marking the second direct contact since the weekend.

Operation Sindoor was launched by the Indian Armed Forces on the night of May 6-7 in retaliation for the Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 civilians. The military conducted precision strikes on nine terror camps in Pakistan and PoK, eliminating over 100 terrorists. In response, Pakistan attempted attacks on May 8-10, which were met with a fierce counterstrike by the Indian Air Force. Key Pakistani military bases, including Rafiqui, Murid, Chaklala, and radar stations at Pasrur and Sialkot, were heavily damaged using precision-guided munitions.
