PM Modi and Political Leaders Celebrate Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan's 80th Birthday
Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan celebrated his 80th birthday on Saturday, receiving warm wishes from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, state ministers, and political leaders. A statement from the Chief Minister's Office (CMO) mentioned that President Droupadi Murmu and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar personally called to convey their greetings. Despite the milestone, Vijayan continued with his official duties, as there were no formal celebrations planned.

Vijayan's birthday followed the fourth anniversary of his second term as Chief Minister. He has been serving in this role since May 25, 2016, as a member of the CPIM politburo. Social media platforms were abuzz with well-wishes from various individuals, including political figures. Prime Minister Modi expressed his wishes on X, saying, "Birthday greetings to Kerala CM Shri Pinarayi Vijayan Ji. May he be blessed with a long and healthy life."
Political Leaders Extend Greetings
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari also shared his heartfelt wishes on social media, hoping for joy and prosperity in the coming year for Vijayan. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, along with governors and chief ministers from different states, joined in extending their birthday greetings to the Kerala Chief Minister.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin posted a special message in Malayalam, highlighting Vijayan's dedication to progressive governance and their shared commitment to federalism and secularism. Stalin expressed hope for continued cultural ties and common interests between Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
Family and Friends Celebrate
State Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar visited Vijayan at his official residence to offer his greetings personally. The Governor wished him many more years of service to the people. Photos shared by Arlekar showed Vijayan's family, including his wife, daughter, and son-in-law P A Mohammed Riyas, present during the occasion.
Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal, CPI M general secretary M A Baby, and opposition leader V D Satheesan were among those who conveyed their best wishes. Cabinet colleagues like P Rajeev and V Sivankutty also joined in celebrating the day.
Social Media Buzz
Actors Kamal Haasan, Mohanlal, and Mammootty took to social media to send their greetings to Vijayan. On Facebook, Riyas described him as a symbol of truth, virtue, and determination. Interestingly, Vijayan had previously mentioned that while official records state his birth date as March 21, 1944, his correct birth date is May 24, 1945.
The widespread expressions of goodwill reflect Vijayan's influence across various sectors. His leadership continues to garner respect and admiration from peers and citizens alike.
