PM Modi In Hyderabad: Telangana Youth Congress Welcomes Him With ‘PM Is Compromised’ Posters

Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Hyderabad on Sunday, political tensions increased in Telangana after the Youth Congress put up posters and banners across the city carrying the slogan "PM is compromised."

The posters appeared in several busy locations, including Hitech City, and quickly grabbed public attention. The campaign has now become a major talking point in Telangana politics, especially ahead of the Prime Minister's public events in the city.

Posters And Stickers Seen Across Hyderabad

According to reports, a large banner with the slogan "PM is compromised" was installed on a flyover near Cyber Towers in Hitech City. Apart from the giant banner, smaller stickers carrying the same message were pasted on pillars, autos and even on posters of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) on Saturday, March 14, held a massive protest against Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Khairtabad, alleging that the PM has compromised Indias interests with his recent actions.

The protest campaign was reportedly organised by the Telangana Youth Congress, which has been actively criticising the Centre over recent political and economic developments.
This is the third such demonstration organised by Congress workers in Hyderabad in the last two months.

Protest Earlier Seen During IPL Match

Earlier this month, Congress supporters carried out a similar protest during the Indian Premier League (IPL) match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium on May 3.

During the match, several Indian Youth Congress workers sitting in the stands displayed large letter cards that together formed the slogan "PM is compromised." The protest happened openly in front of thousands of spectators inside the stadium.

The visuals from the stadium later went viral on social media and sparked political debate online.

What Is Behind The "PM Is Compromised" Campaign?

The campaign appears to be linked to criticism from Congress leaders regarding the India-US trade agreement announced earlier this year.

Under the deal, India reportedly agreed to purchase American goods worth USD 500 billion over five years. In return, the United States reduced reciprocal tariffs on Indian goods from 25 per cent to 18 per cent. Reports also suggested that India agreed not to purchase Russian oil as part of the broader understanding.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi strongly criticised the agreement and accused the Modi government of compromising India's interests.

Rahul Gandhi had claimed that Prime Minister Modi had "surrendered on tariffs" and alleged that the government had "sold the country" through the deal.

The BJP, however, has defended its economic policies and described the criticism as politically motivated.

Earlier Rally Added To Controversy

The controversy surrounding the slogan is not new in Telangana. On March 14, the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) organised a rally in Khairtabad where party workers carried a massive 100-foot banner with the same slogan.

During that protest, Congress leaders also raised questions regarding allegations linked to the Epstein files and claimed that answers were needed from the Prime Minister.
The protests have since continued in different forms across Hyderabad.

PM Modi's Hyderabad Visit

Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to arrive in Hyderabad from Bengaluru on Sunday. During the visit, he will attend an event at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC) in Gachibowli.

At the programme, the Prime Minister will virtually inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for multiple development projects worth around Rs 9,400 crore.

The projects include:

• Foundation stone for the four-laning of the Hyderabad-Panaji Economic Corridor
• Development of the Zaheerabad Industrial Area
• Inauguration of sections of the Kazipet-Vijayawada railway multi-tracking project
• Launch of a Greenfield Petroleum, Oil and Lubricants (POL) Terminal in Hyderabad
• Inauguration related to the PM MITRA Park project in WarangalLater in the day, Prime Minister Modi is also expected to address a public meeting at Parade Grounds.

Political Atmosphere Heats Up In Telangana

The latest poster campaign has once again highlighted the growing political battle between the Congress and the BJP in Telangana. While Congress leaders continue to target the Prime Minister over national issues, BJP leaders have accused the opposition of trying to create unnecessary controversy ahead of an important development-focused visit.

With both parties preparing for future political battles in the state, Hyderabad is witnessing increasingly visible political messaging and public demonstrations.
