PM Modi in Chennai, assures all possible help for rain-hit Tamil Nadu
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is on a one-day tour to Chennai met the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister and discussed the situation arising due to heavy rains and floods in Chennai and other parts of the state.
The prime minister assured them of all assistance from the Centre with regard to situation arising due to heavy rain, floods in TN.

Modi landed in Chennai at 9 PM to participate in a Tamil newspaper's 75th anniversary function and also in the marriage of a senior IAS officer's daughter.
In a surprise detour to his itinerary, Modi has decided to call on the senior DMK leader.
"During his visit to Tamil Nadu today, PM Modi will visit senior most leader from the state and former CM M Karunanidhi," tweeted party spokesperson P Muralidhar Rao.
Torrential rains which have lashed coastal Tamil Nadu, including state capital Chennai, over the last week, are likely to subside in the coming days.
In the next 24 hours, light spells of rains are expected in many places over Tamil Nadu and Puducherry while heavy rains have been forecast in one or two places in south Tamil Nadu, the Cauvery delta region and Puducherry, he said.
