Commending Rescue and Relief Efforts

PM Modi lauded the tireless work of the NDRF, SDRF, and other security forces in the rescue operations amid landslides and cloudbursts. He also appreciated the efforts of local citizens and social workers during the crisis.

"Wherever there was a crisis, our NDRF and SDRF personnel, along with other security forces, worked day and night to save lives. They used technology, including thermal cameras, live detectors, sniffer dogs, and drones, to speed up relief work. Relief materials were delivered by helicopters, and the injured were airlifted. Armed forces, local people, social workers, doctors, and administrative officials - everyone did their best during this hour of crisis. I sincerely thank all citizens who prioritized humanity during these difficult times," he said.

Highlighting Achievements in Jammu & Kashmir

Despite the monsoon devastation, PM Modi highlighted two significant achievements in Jammu and Kashmir. He noted that Pulwama hosted its first-ever day-night cricket match, attracting a record audience, and the 'Khelo India Water Sports Festival' was successfully conducted at Dal Lake in Srinagar.

"Amidst floods and rains, J&K achieved two special milestones. Pulwama witnessed its first day-night cricket match, part of the Royal Premier League involving various J&K teams. The stadium saw unprecedented attendance, showcasing the nation's progress," he said.

Regarding the Khelo India Water Sports Festival, PM Modi added, "Over 800 athletes from across India participated, with nearly equal participation from women. Madhya Pradesh won the most medals, followed by Haryana and Odisha. Congratulations to all participants." He also interacted with athletes Rasmita Sahoo from Odisha and Moshin Ali from Srinagar, who shared their experiences from the festival.

Launch of Pratibha Setu Portal for UPSC Aspirants

PM Modi announced the launch of the 'Pratibha Setu' portal to support UPSC aspirants who narrowly missed the final merit list. The platform allows private companies to connect with these talented candidates for employment opportunities.

"The UPSC Civil Services exam is among the toughest in the country. Many capable candidates miss the final list by a small margin and spend additional time and resources preparing for other exams. The Pratibha Setu portal now stores profiles of these candidates, enabling private companies to access and employ them," he said.

Remembering Sardar Patel Ahead of Hyderabad Liberation Day

Ahead of Hyderabad Liberation Day in September, PM Modi recalled Sardar Patel's pivotal role in Operation Polo, which led to the integration of Hyderabad with India.

"Next month, we celebrate Hyderabad Liberation Day, honoring the heroes of Operation Polo. When India gained independence in August 1947, Hyderabad faced increasing atrocities under the Nizam and Razakars. Sardar Patel convinced the government to launch Operation Polo, and in record time, our forces liberated Hyderabad and integrated it into India," PM Modi stated.
