PM in Bengaluru today: Roads to avoid

The police have issued an advisory to avoid certain roads in the event of Prime Minister Narendra Modi visiting Bengaluru on Saturday.

The Prime Minister's roadshow will commence at the NICE Road junction, Magadi Road and traverse 5.3 kilometres before it ends at Sumanahalli.

The police have said that the roads to avoid would be, Old Airport Road, Cubbon Road, Ambedkar Road, Devanga Road, Cambridge Layout Road, Lalbagh West Gate Road, K R Circle, R V College Road and Lalbagh Main Road.

Security:

There are around 3,000 police personnel who have been deployed for the roadshow. The security arrangements are being monitored by five DCPs along with 20 ACPs, 64 inspectors, 2,800 constables and 10 battalions each from the KSRP and CAR. During the roadshow the public has been asked not to stand on terraces of houses, apartments, commercial buildings or any other high-rises, the police have said.

5-hour closure:

The PM's proposed visit to Channapatna has prompted the police to close the Bengaluru-Mysuru expressway stretch between Maddur and Channapatna for five hours from 11 am on Sunday. The police have said that the commuters should take the Bidadi-HarohalliMalavalli road to reach Mysuru. Similarly commuters from Mysuru can travel till Maddur outskirts and take the Kunigal-Nelamangala and reach the city.

Routes to take:

The police said that those heading from the city towards Magadi should take a left at the Magadi Road-Chord Road Circle and then move towards Mysuru Road to reach Kengeri and head towards Kommaghatta, Hemmigepura and Tavarekere.

Those who are moving from Nayandahalli to Tumakuru Road should take the KengeriRamohalli (through RR College) Chandrappa CircleTavarekere Magadi Road and Tumakuru Road.

Commuters coming from Magadi Road towards the city should take a right at Tavarekere Junction and then move along Hemmigepura, Kommaghatta and Kengeri.

Those who are heading from Magadi Road towards Tumakuru should take a left at the Tavarekere Junction and then head towards Sondekoppa, reach Nelamangala before they can proceed.
