PM Modi Criticises Congress for Allegedly Supporting Pakistan-Groomed Terrorists in Assam

During a public meeting in Assam, PM Modi accused the Congress party of supporting terrorists groomed by Pakistan and praised the state's crackdown on infiltrators. He also launched significant development projects while addressing concerns over rising tariffs on Indian products.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi criticised the Congress for allegedly supporting terrorists backed by Pakistan instead of the Indian Army. He praised the Assam government for removing infiltrators from occupied lands. Speaking at a public gathering in Mangaldoi, Darrang district, Modi accused the Congress of protecting anti-national elements. He also launched development projects worth Rs 18,350 crore in Assam, where assembly elections are scheduled next year.

At a separate rally in Numaligarh, Golaghat district, Modi discussed efforts to reduce crude oil and gas imports. The focus is on exploring fossil fuels and green energy. Recently, the US increased tariffs on Indian products due to India's purchase of Russian oil, raising tariffs on New Delhi to 50 per cent.

Focus on Energy Independence

Modi highlighted India's reliance on foreign nations for crude oil and gas despite being one of the fastest-growing economies. To address this, the government is prioritising oil exploration and green energy generation. He emphasised the need to meet energy requirements domestically.

The Prime Minister claimed that Congress encouraged infiltration when in power and now seeks to settle infiltrators permanently. He mentioned conspiracies to alter demography in border regions through infiltration, posing a threat to national security. A nationwide Demography Mission is being launched to address this issue.

Development Initiatives in Assam

Modi praised Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma for evicting infiltrators and enabling farmers to cultivate previously encroached lands. These lands are now witnessing an agricultural transformation. The BJP will not allow infiltrators to seize land or threaten national security.

The Prime Minister criticised Congress for neglecting Assam's heritage and icons while claiming that BJP brought development and recognition to the state. He stated that Congress ruled Assam for decades but built only three bridges over the Brahmaputra river, whereas the BJP-led government constructed six bridges in ten years.

Economic Growth and Connectivity

Modi noted Assam's impressive 13 per cent growth rate achieved through the double-engine government's efforts. The Centre and state government are developing Assam as a health hub, with the Northeast playing a crucial role in achieving the Viksit Bharat dream.

The Prime Minister stressed the importance of connectivity for rapid development. The government is committed to enhancing seamless multimodal connectivity in the Northeast, which has boosted businesses and created job opportunities for youth.

He urged people to buy swadeshi goods for national development and their children's future. Modi remarked that 25 years of the 21st century have passed, with the next chapter belonging to the East and Northeast.

The Prime Minister expressed his pain over insults directed at Bhupen Hazarika after Congress leaders commented on BJP honouring singers and dancers. "Main nilkantha ke tarah, saare zehar nigal leta hoon I swallow all poison like Nilkantha," he said, but he cannot tolerate insults towards Bhupen da.

Modi referred to Operation Sindoor's success due to Ma Kamakhya's blessings while criticising Congress for not supporting armed forces during this operation against terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan. "The Congress, instead of supporting our armed forces... was engaged in protecting infiltrators," he alleged.

Mangaldoi witnessed significant movements during British rule's peasant uprising and Assam agitation against illegal infiltration. Modi highlighted these historical events while addressing local concerns about identity protection.
