A tragic plane crash in Pune claimed the lives of several individuals, including flight attendant Pinki Mali and Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. The incident also resulted in the deaths of Captain Sumit Kapoor, co-pilot Captain Shambhavi Pathak, and Personal Security Officer Vidip Jadhav. Pinki, originally from Bhainsa village in Uttar Pradesh's Jaunpur district, had been residing in Mumbai with her family.

Despite living in Mumbai, Pinki maintained strong ties with Bhainsa village, visiting annually during Durga Puja and actively participating in the festivities. Her father, Shivkumar Mali, an NCP leader, had relocated the family to Mumbai years ago.

The ill-fated chartered aircraft carried Ajit Pawar and four others when it crashed. Captain Sumit Kapoor had accumulated 15,000 hours of flying experience, while co-pilot Captain Shambhavi Pathak had 1,500 hours. The crash has left a void not only in the families of those lost but also within their communities.

Bhainsa village head Raju Pal highlighted Pinki's enduring connection to her roots. Despite residing in Mumbai, she frequently visited Bhainsa and contributed to local cultural activities. Her involvement in organising the Durga Puja festival pandal was particularly noted by locals.
