Pawan Kalyan Starts New Wing In Janasena Party To 'Protect Sanatana Dharma'

Janasena Party Chief and Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has announced the establishment of a new party division, the 'Narasimha Varahi Brigade', aimed at safeguarding Sanatana Dharma.

"I respect all religions, but I stand firm in my own faith. Those who disparage Sanatana Dharma on social media or speak disrespectfully about it will have to face consequences. Therefore, I am creating a dedicated wing within our party called the 'Narasimha Varahi Brigade' to protect Sanatana Dharma," Kalyan stated, explaining the brigade's purpose.

This announcement comes in the wake of recent accusations concerning the use of adulterated ghee in the prasadam at the Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Tirumala.

Last month, Kalyan advocated for a strong national law to protect Sanatana Dharma and to prevent disrespect towards its beliefs. Speaking at the Varahi Declaration event in Tirupati, he said, "A robust national Act is needed to protect Sanatana Dharma and prevent harm to its beliefs. This Act should be enacted immediately and enforced uniformly across Bharat."

Pawan Kalyan proposed establishing a Sanatana Dharma Protection Board at both national and state levels to oversee the law's enforcement, supported by dedicated funding. He further highlighted the need for a Sanatana Dharma Certification to ensure the purity of materials used in temple offerings and prasadam.

"There should be non-cooperation with those who defame or spread hatred against Sanatana Dharma," Kalyan added. "The certification would guarantee only pure materials are used for offerings, preserving the sanctity of our temples."

On Saturday, Kalyan also shared his longstanding connection to the Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Temple in IS Jaganathapuram, which he has supported since 2009.

He pledged Rs 4.5 crore for its development, including a protective wall and new temple construction, and promised an inquiry into unauthorised excavations near the temple site.
