'Patriot Muslims vote for BJP, Pak supporters vote for Cong, JDS: CT Ravi

BJP's National General Secretary CT Ravi said that many patriots in "Muslims" vote for the BJP, but some of them who support Pakistan will vote for Congress and JDS.

He also stated that the BJP does not want votes who have a "Pakistani mindset." "There are many patriots among Muslims who vote for BJP. But some of them who support Pakistan and have divisive ideology vote for Congress and Janata Dal. We don't want the votes of those who have a Pakistani mindset," ANI quoted CT Ravi as saying.

The Chikkamagaluru MLA said that the BJP comes out with schemes keeping 'sabka saath, sabka vikas' in mind. "People who are like Abdul Kalam and Shishunala Sharifa vote for BJP. We bring government schemes keeping 'sabka saath, sabka vikas' in mind and not on the basis of caste-like former CM Siddaramaiah did earlier. He brought many of the government schemes for Muslims only," he said while giving clarification on former Karnataka minister KS Eshwarappa's statement that the BJP does not need a single vote from the Muslim community.

Talking about Rahul Gandhi's campaigning in Karnataka, CT Ravi stated that Congress will lose wherever Gandhi campaigns. "Rahul Gandhi campaigned in UP and Congress lost there. But wherever PM Modi campaigns, BJP wins and it will continue to win," he said.

CT Ravi is in old Mysore on Wednesday to campaign for the BJP candidate R Ashok.

On Tuesday, CT Ravi was in the news after KS Eshwarappa, who has stepped away from electoral politics, hailed him as a good leader and urged voters in Nidughatta near Chikkamagaluru to elect him with a big margin to make him the next CM of the state.

Later, he clarified that a decision on picking the CM face is not within his domain. "I do not have the authority to make such a decision and decide on who the party's CM face would be," he said.

KS Eshwarappa also said that the Chikkamagaluru MLA has the qualities to become the Chief Minister of the state.

"CT Ravi is a good leader. He is doing very good work in Chikkamagaluru. I did not say anything about him being the next chief minister. I have no authority to make such a statement," KS Eshwarappa told ANI.
