Patna-Rajdhani train dacoity: RPF personnel suspended for negligence on duty
A case of dacoity has been reported in Patna-Rajdhandi Express near Buxar district of Bihar where the dacoits thrashed the passengers and looted on Sunday morning. The criminals then looted cash and valuables before fleeing away with valuables.
A dozen men barged into three coaches of the train near the Buxar railway station, about 125 km from here, and threatened to shoot the passengers if they tried to resist the robbery, the passengers told the police.
The passengers told the police that the robbers boarded the train somewhere between Mughalsarai and Buxar. After looting them, they pulled the chain to stop the train and fled.
The railway police have been informed about the incident following which the officials have launched a probe. An FIR was registered at the Patna railway station after the angry passengers protested here.
Also, Railway Protection Force personnel who were part of the escort team have been suspended for negligence on duty.
Patna Rail Superintendent of Police Jitender Mishra said an inquiry has been launched into the incident and the criminals would be arrested soon.
This isn't the first time, earlier in 2010, six-seven gunmen reportedly boarded the passenger train at Bansipur about 150 km from Patna late evening and proceeded to loot passengers.
