Good news: Patliputra Railway station to become operational from Dec 16
Patna, Dec 14: After concerted efforts of Railways and assistance extended by the Bihar government, Patliputra station would start operating from coming Wednesday, an East Central Railway (ECR) official said.
Trains would start plying from Patliputra station in Patna from December 16, Chief Public Relation Officer (CPRO) Arvind Kumar Rajak said in a statement here.

The 13255 Patliputra-Chandigarh Express would chug off from the new Patliputra station on Wednesday to herald operation of trains from there, the CPRO said.
Patliputra Junction (PPTA) would be under Danapur division of ECR. It has been developed as to ease the pressure on the city's other two railway stations of Patna junction and Rajendranagar Terminal through which around 350 trains pass daily.
Patliputra station was ready for quite some time but it could not be made functional so far because of problem of approach road to it.
