Pall of Gloom in Jammu Colony Following Arrival of Terror Victim Shashi Abrol's Body
A sombre atmosphere enveloped Jammu's Talab Tillo area on Monday evening as the body of Shashi Abrol arrived. Abrol, an architectural designer, was among seven construction company employees killed by terrorists in Ganderbal district, Jammu and Kashmir, on Sunday. The attack occurred at a tunnel-building site on the Srinagar-Leh highway, officials reported.

Unidentified terrorists launched the assault as workers returned to their camp in Ganderbal's Gund late in the evening. Abrol had been employed with the construction company in Sonamarg for six years. His grieving family, including his wife Ruchi, son Ishan, daughter, and parents, were devastated by the news.
Family's Heartbreaking Loss
Abrol's family was inconsolable when his body arrived from Kashmir. His wife, mother, and children embraced him one last time. He had visited home two months ago for his son's college admission. Ishan is a first-year engineering student, while his daughter is just three years old.
Ruchi Abrol faced a tragic Karwa Chauth festival this year. Traditionally celebrated by married women for their husbands' long lives, it turned into a day of mourning for her. She waited in traditional attire to break her fast after moonrise on Sunday night.
Tragic Timing of Events
Despite making several calls to her husband that evening, Ruchi received no response. The family eventually learned about his death in the terror attack. The cremation is scheduled for Tuesday morning, according to family members.
The incident has left a deep impact on the community and highlights ongoing security challenges in the region. The loss of Shashi Abrol and others serves as a stark reminder of the violence affecting innocent lives.
