Pakistani Crew Cheers 'India Zindabad' After Rescue By Indian Navy From Pirates
A group of 23 Pakistani nationals expressed gratitude towards the Indian Navy and cheered 'India Zindabad' slogans after the Navy's specialist team protected them from nine armed pirates. The team also completed sanitization and seaworthiness checks of their vessel, FV Al-Kambar. Prior to clearing the boat for fishing activities, the crew underwent thorough medical checkups.

The Indian Navy successfully freed an Iranian fishing vessel that had been hijacked by pirates. The crew was rescued following a 12-hour anti-piracy operation at sea, involving intense coercive tactical measures. After the operation on Friday, specialist Navy teams conducted checks on the fishing vessel to ensure its seaworthiness and safety for resuming normal fishing activities.
During the operation, INS Sumedha intercepted FV 'Al Kambar' and was later joined by the guided missile frigate INS Trishul. After more than 12 hours of intense tactical measures, the pirates surrendered, and the 23-member Pakistani crew was safely rescued. The incident occurred approximately 90 nautical miles southwest of Socotra, where the pirates had boarded the vessel.
The Indian Navy reiterated its commitment to maritime security and the safety of seafarers, irrespective of their nationalities. The Socotra Archipelago, located in the northwest Indian Ocean near the Gulf of Aden, was the location of the incident.
