Pakistan’s Dirty Games Exposed: How Terrorists Are Exploiting Pir Panjal’s Rugged Terrain
Security forces have launched an aggressive manhunt in the dense forests surrounding Baisaran near Pahalgam after Pakistan-sponsored terrorists unleashed a cowardly attack on innocent civilians. Despite extensive searches in nearby towns and villages, authorities strongly suspect that the terrorists, aided by Pakistan's notorious handlers, are hiding deep within the thick jungles connected to the meadow. The were last seen near Hapatnar, Anantnag recently.
OneIndia's Fayaz Ahmed, stationed close to ground zero yet maintaining a safe distance from the Baisaran Valley as per the Centre's advisory, reports that security forces are rigorously sanitising the region.

Although the National Investigation Agency (NIA) will take over the probe into the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack - allegedly carried out by The Resistance Front (TRF), an offshoot of the Pakistan-based banned outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) - local security forces remain on high alert and continue their operations to flush out the terrorists.
Fayaz further reveals how these terrorists, trained and funded by Pakistan, are exploiting the rugged forest terrain to their advantage. They are making use of natural caves and hollowed-out tree trunks to set up makeshift hideouts, camouflaging themselves within untouched parts of the wilderness. These caves, long isolated from human activity, have now become dens of terror where militants plot their next cowardly attacks against unarmed civilians.
Terror operatives have evolved their tactics. They are no longer relying solely on traditional camps; instead, they are hiding inside camouflaged tree trunks and dense foliage, deliberately evading India's surveillance networks. Such methods allow militants to blend almost invisibly into the environment, complicating the counter-insurgency efforts on the ground.
While technologies like drones, night-vision, and thermal imaging aid the search, the dense forest canopies and the thickness of tree trunks sometimes mask body heat signatures, making it difficult to detect motionless militants. Nonetheless, Indian ground forces, supported by heat sensors and trained sniffer dogs, continue their relentless hunt.
It is important to note that the rugged terrain itself - stretching across hundreds of kilometres along the mighty Pir Panjal range - adds to the challenge. But security forces are determined to root out terror from every corner of the region.
Pakistan's Terror Tactics: Chinese Satphones in Play
According to reports, Intelligence agencies have now confirmed that Pakistan-based terror outfit The Resistance Force (TRF) - an offshoot of the Lashkar-e-Taiba - used Chinese satellite phones and encrypted messaging apps to coordinate the brutal Pahalgam attack that claimed 26 innocent lives.
These satellite phones - banned in India - were smuggled across the border by Pakistan-backed operatives. The National Investigation Agency (NIA), now officially probing the attack, found that the terrorists exploited advanced Huawei satellite phones, capable of bypassing Indian surveillance systems. Intelligence sources revealed the use of apps with military-grade encryption, some of which had been previously banned by India after the Galwan Valley incident.
The satellite phones connect directly to China's Tiantong-1 network, allowing terrorists to operate undetected even in the remotest valleys.
Huawei devices, designed for China's satellite network, are also suspected to have steganographic capabilities - allowing hidden communications through images and videos, making detection even harder.
China backs Pakistan amid rising tensions
Instead of standing with the global fight against terrorism, China has shamelessly backed Pakistan. In official statements, Beijing expressed support for Pakistan's "sovereignty and security interests" - despite overwhelming evidence of Pakistani soil being used to orchestrate attacks on civilians.
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, instead of condemning Pakistan's state-sponsored terrorism, hypocritically called for a "fair investigation" and reaffirmed Beijing's support for Islamabad's counterterrorism efforts - a slap in the face of the victims.
Even while condemning the Pahalgam attack on paper, China's actions reveal a deeply entrenched duplicity. Their so-called "iron brotherhood" with Pakistan is evidently more important than global peace or justice for the 26 innocent lives lost.
