Pakistan involved in 240 incidents at LoC, IB in past 35 days
In the past 35 days there have been 240 incidents along the Line of Control and International Border. Pakistan has been frequently violating the ceasefire and the Army says that the current phase was an escalatory ladder.

This is a very high figure when compared to the violations that took place in 2016. In the year 2016 228 incidents were reported while in 2017 it was 860.
It may be recalled that four Army personnel including a Captain were martyred on Sunday in ceasefire violation by Pakistan.
The Army has vowed to give a befitting reply to Pakistan's actions. The Vice-Chief of the Army Staff Lieutenant-General Sarath Chandra said that the Army would continue to give a befitting reply. Our action will speak for itself, he also said.
Intelligence reports in the possession of OneIndia clearly indicate that Pakistan would continue to up the ante. There is a desperate attempt to aid infiltrations and ceasefire violations are being indulged in to provide cover fire to the terrorists.
