Pakistan Airlines Flight PK248 Enters Indian Airspace, Flies Over 3 States For An Hour

In a shocking incident, a Pakistani airplane, PIA-308, unexpectedly entered Indian airspace on Monday evening, causing concern among aviation authorities. The aircraft, en route from Karachi to Islamabad, encountered adverse weather conditions shortly after takeoff at 4:31 PM. Due to the weather's sudden deterioration, the flight deviated from its intended path and inadvertently crossed into Indian airspace at 5:02 PM.

The airplane entered Indian territory through Rajasthan after departing from Hyderabad in Pakistan. For a duration of approximately 1 hour and 12 minutes, it flew over the states of Rajasthan, Haryana, and Punjab before returning to Pakistani airspace from Punjab at 6.14 PM.

This isn't the first time such an incident has occurred. In June of this year, an IndiGo flight experienced a similar situation when it unintentionally slipped into Pakistan's airspace due to adverse air conditions. The flight briefly flew over Gujranwala in Pakistan before safely returning to India. The airline attributed the diversion to Atari in Pakistan to unfavorable weather conditions.

During the incident involving the IndiGo flight, Amritsar Air Traffic Control (ATC) handled the diversion adeptly by coordinating with Pakistani authorities via telephone. The entire crew maintained clear communication with Pakistan throughout the process, ensuring the flight's safe landing in Ahmedabad.

Moreover, security concerns related to airspace violations persist. Just last month, the Border Security Force (BSF) intercepted a Pakistan drone that entered Indian airspace in Punjab's Tarn Taran district. The drone, a Hexacopter, was later recovered in a damaged state during a joint search operation conducted by the BSF and Punjab Police in a farming field near Village Mehdipur.

Prompt action by the BSF personnel allowed them to intercept the suspected drone swiftly, underscoring the importance of maintaining vigilance along the borders.
