Owaisi Taunts Pakistan Over 'Leased Chinese Aircraft' After IAF Destroys Rahim Yar Khan Airbase in Precision S

After the Indian Air Force (IAF) successfully attacked the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) base at Rahim Yar Khan on May 10, AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi made a scathing jab at Pakistan's senior brass. In retaliation for Pakistani missile attacks, India bombed eight PAF locations, including the base.

Owaisi made fun of Army Chief General Asim Munir and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on X (previously Twitter). "Will S Sharief & A Munir be able to land their leased Chinese aircraft at Rahim Yar Khan Airbase?" he questioned in his post.

The Sheikh Zayed International Airport and the Rahim Yar Khan facility, a crucial forward operating airfield under the PAF's Central Command, share a single runway. Pakistan's Civil Aviation Authority is in charge of the airport, which bears the name of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the first president of the United Arab Emirates, who provided funding for the development of the terminal.

The Rahim Yar Khan base, which is close to Pakistan's border with Rajasthan, was severely damaged in the IAF raid. The runway developed a sizable crater, which resulted in a week-long suspension of aeroplane operations.

Beyond Rahim Yar Khan, the IAF's May 10 attacks also damaged Nur Khan, Sukkur, Murid, Shahbaz, Mushaf, Rafiqui, and Bholari, among other key PAF airbases. These measures were taken in response to Pakistani missile attacks on Indian military installations, which Indian air defence systems were able to intercept.

Concurrently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid a visit at Punjab's Adampur Air Base on Tuesday. Pakistan incorrectly claimed that the facility, which is India's second-largest IAF base, had been destroyed. Modi's visit was interpreted as a clear refutation of the misinformation coming from Islamabad.

The attacks are a component of Operation Sindoor, which India initiated in response to the April 22 terrorist incident in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. 26 Indian male tourists were killed in the incident, which was carried out by militants supported by Pakistan.

On May 7, the Indian military responded by launching high-precision attacks against nine terrorist camps located throughout Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. More than 100 terrorists were killed as a result of these raids, severely undermining the infrastructure supporting terrorism in Pakistan.
