Over puris and aloo, the deal between JD(U) and BJP was struck in Bihar
After exchanging pleasantries and having a sumptuous meal, the deal was struck.
The BJP leaders are coming and they will have dinner with us, Nitish Kumar said upon his return from the Governor's residence. Nitish ahd returned to 1-Anne Marg after tendering his resignation and at that time, there was no formal talk of an alliance with the BJP.
Back at home, Nitish watched Lalu Prasad Yadav speak on television. It was at that time that Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted a congratulatory message to which Nitish Kumar responded promptly.
A few minutes later, Nitish got a call from Sushil Modi. Nitish turned to his men and told them the BJP leaders are coming and food for them should be prepared. Over puris, paneer, aloo and dal, the leaders spoke and reminisced their old days.

Sushil Modi over dinner told Nitish, " the past is the past. Let us burry that and work together. It feels like I am dreaming the Modi from Bihar told Nitish."
To this Nitish Kumar replied said, " let us work with a zero tolerance towards corruption." Sushil Modi then appraised Nitish about how Narendra Modi always had a good word for him. " He is very happy with your good work," Sushil Modi said.
After exchanging pleasantries and having a sumptuous meal, the deal was struck. The good old days of the JD(U) and BJP were back. A few hours later, both Nitish and Modi were on the way to Raj Bhavan and on Thursday, they were sworn in as Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar.
