Opposition stages walkout over 'irregularities' in 5th JPSC
Ranchi, March 2: The Opposition, which has been disrupting the state Assembly since Friday, on Wednesday, March 2 staged a walkout over the issue of alleged irregularities in the 5th Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC).
The opposition members, who are demanding cancellation of results and a CBI probe into the alleged irregularities in the process of the 5th JPSC examination, trooped into the Well as soon as the House began.
Leader of the House and former Chief Minister Hemant Soren asked the Chair as to how could the Opposition sit silently on a 'sensitive' issue when Speaker Dinesh Oraon appealed to the opposition members to resume their seats and debate over the issue. When his repeated pleas were ignored by the Opposition, Oraon adjourned the House till 12.10 PM.
On resumption, Soren led the entire opposition members to a walkout in support of their twin demands, unlike the previous three days when they forced adjournments almost the entire days.
The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (Prajatantrik), Congress and other parties abstained from the House in the second half as the proceedings continued with empty Opposition benches.
