Operation Sindoor: Schools Shut In Jammu Region After Strikes On Terror Camps In Pakistan, PoK

Following India's successful attacks on many terror hubs in Bahawalpur, Muridke, Sialkot, and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), all schools, colleges, and educational institutions in the districts of Jammu, Samba, Kathua, Rajouri, and Poonch are closed today, Wednesday, May 7. The current state of security in the area prompted the issuance of the order. "Due to the current circumstances, all government and private schools in District Poonch will remain closed today, May 7, 2025," stated the Divisional Commissioner of Jammu.

Targeting nine locations-four inside Pakistan and five in PoK-the Indian Armed Forces carried out a well-coordinated operation known as "Operation Sindoor" in the early hours of Wednesday. Top members of the terrorist groups Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), who have been involved in organising and coordinating attacks against India, were known to hide out in these areas.

The Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force carried out a coordinated operation to target the specified terror infrastructure with sophisticated precision-guided missiles. According to insiders, Prime Minister Narendra Modi kept a close eye on the mission throughout the night, and all of the military's resources and personnel were mobilised for it.

According to sources, all nine targets were successfully neutralised. Without provoking any escalation, the strikes were precisely designed to destroy the JeM and LeT command and leadership systems. "Our actions have been focused, measured, and non-escalatory in nature," the Ministry of Defence claims. There have been no attacks against Pakistani military installations. India has shown a great deal of prudence in both the execution strategy and target selection.

Additionally, the Ministry explained that the strikes were a direct reaction to the horrific terrorist incident in Pahalgam, which killed one Nepali person and twenty-five Indians. The administration underlined its determination to hold those responsible for such horrible crimes accountable.
