MP Chandrashekhar Azad Claims Only Those Who Have Sinned Will Attend Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj

Chandrashekhar Azad, the national president of the Azad Samaj Party and Nagina MP, made a controversial statement on Thursday. He claimed that only those who have committed sins will attend the Maha Kumbh. Azad did not provide further details on this assertion. The Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj is scheduled to start on January 13 and will run until February 26.

Chandrashekhar Azad on Maha Kumbh Attendance

During his visit to the Saharanpur MP-MLA court, Azad reiterated his statement to reporters. "Only those people will go to the Kumbh Mela who have committed sins. Only those who have committed sins should go. But does anyone tell when someone sins?" he questioned. Azad was present in court for a hearing related to an attack on him.

Azad's Critique of Uttar Pradesh Governance

Azad criticised the law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh, describing it as dire. He accused the chief minister of having a dictatorial approach, claiming that the leader acts according to personal whims. "The situation in Uttar Pradesh is very bad. There is jungle raj here," he stated. Azad also alleged that there was an attempt on his life.

The Lok Sabha MP highlighted ongoing discrimination against society's marginalised groups. He stated that the Azad Samaj Party is committed to fighting for the rights and dignity of these communities, which have endured years of prejudice based on religion and community.

Political Alliances and Future Plans

When asked about potential political alliances, Azad suggested that uniting good individuals could bolster the position of the poor and possibly challenge the BJP's dominance. He indicated that such alliances could be beneficial for marginalised communities.

Azad also announced his party's intention to participate in the upcoming byelection for the Milkipur assembly seat. This move signifies the party's ongoing efforts to expand its political influence and advocate for social justice.

Azad expressed concerns about systemic bias against weaker sections by institutions like media, police, administration, and judiciary. "Even today, the media, police, administration and judiciary are often seen standing against these weaker sections," he remarked.

The remarks by Azad reflect his broader political agenda focused on addressing social inequalities and challenging existing power structures in Uttar Pradesh and beyond.
