Mumbai-Goa highway: One passenger dies, nine others injured in bus mishap

Chiplun, Aug 27: One passenger died and nine were injured in an accident involving an Maharashtra State Transport Corporation (MSRTC) which took place today near Chiplun in Ratnagiri district, on the Mumbai-Goa highway, official sources said.

The Borivali-Sakharpa MSRTC bus was on its way from Borivali, when the driver lost his control over the bus, which ran down a roadside field. One passenger named Laxman Dhondu Narkar died on the spot, while nine others who were injured have been admitted to nearby hospitals.

A total of 38 passengers were travelling in the bus during the time of the mishap.
