One Killed In Massive AC Blast In Ghaziabad, Multiple Vehicles Gutted - Watch Video

A major fire broke out at an air conditioner (AC) service centre in Ghaziabad in the early hours of Friday, killing one elderly man and causing heavy damage to property.

The incident created panic in the densely populated Patel Nagar area, as explosions from gas cylinders and compressors were heard during the blaze.

Fire Erupts Around 3 AM

According to officials, the fire started around 3:05 am at a three-storey building located in Patel Nagar. Fire department teams rushed to the spot soon after receiving the alert.

By the time firefighters arrived, the building was already engulfed in flames. Thick black smoke filled the air, and large flames could be seen rising from the structure.

Explosions Complicate Rescue Efforts

The situation became more dangerous due to the presence of AC gas cylinders and compressors inside the service centre. These materials exploded repeatedly, making firefighting and rescue operations extremely challenging.

Residents in nearby houses were alarmed as loud blasts echoed through the area, raising fears that the fire could spread to adjoining buildings.

Eight Fire Tenders Deployed

The fire department launched a large-scale operation to control the blaze. Fire tenders from multiple stations, including Vaishali, Sahibabad, and Modinagar, were called in to assist.

In total, around eight fire engines were deployed. Firefighters used multiple water lines and worked for several hours before finally bringing the fire under control.

Elderly Man Found Dead

After the flames were extinguished, firefighters carried out a search operation inside the building. During the search, they recovered the body of an elderly man from the ground floor.

The deceased was identified as 80-year-old Triloki Nath.

Heavy Property Damage

The fire caused extensive damage to the building and surrounding property. Two cars and nearly ten motorcycles parked nearby were completely destroyed.

Officials said the AC service centre reportedly belongs to a local businessman, and the entire structure suffered severe damage.

Investigation Underway

Police and fire department teams have started an investigation to determine the exact cause of the fire. While the initial trigger remains unclear, authorities are examining whether the stored equipment and cylinders contributed to the rapid spread of flames.

The Ghaziabad fire incident highlights the risks associated with storing flammable materials in densely populated areas. While firefighters managed to control the blaze after hours of effort, the loss of life and property has left the neighbourhood shaken.
