New Delhi, Mar 2: This will definitely give you a big shock. It has been revealed that one fourth of the packaged drinking water, milk is not safe to consume. Government records also acknowledge this fact.
According to a TOI report when lab test was done, around 28 per cent samples of packaged drinking water and about 23 per cent milk samples were found violating the food safety standards and norms.

Recently while answering questions about food adulteration, Health Minister JP Nadda said, "Some instances of sale of mineral water or packaged drinking water not conforming to the standards prescribed under the Food Safety and Standards Act (FSSAI), 2006 have come to the notice of FSSAI".
Giving reports about the samples, analyzed in 2014-15, Minister informed the Parliament that out of 6,649 milk samples, 1559 were found to be not conforming to the prescribed standards.
Government has directed state officials to extend all possible cooperation to the food safety authorities in carrying out surveillance activities.
