One Congress MP Is Roaming With Palestine Bag...: UP CM Yogi Adityanath Slams Priyanka Gandhi

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath criticised Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, targeting her party's actions and stance. He remarked, "While one Congress MP is roaming around with a Palestine bag, the Congress leadership remains disconnected from national priorities." This statement was made during the winter session of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly.

The second day of the Assembly's winter session saw the presentation of the supplementary budget for 2024-25 by State Finance Minister Suresh Khanna. The proposal included an additional expenditure of Rs 790 crore. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath highlighted that Uttar Pradesh has become a hub for investors due to its "zero-tolerance" policy towards crime, leading to a riot-free environment that boosts investor confidence.

Job Creation and Economic Growth

In his address, CM Yogi emphasised job creation as a significant achievement of his government. He mentioned that over 7 lakh jobs have been provided across various sectors, with 1.60 lakh recruitments in education and 1.56 lakh in the police department. He assured that reservations were strictly adhered to during recruitment processes.

Yogi also criticised the previous government for biased recruitment practices, stating, "Under the previous regime, out of 86 posts, 56 were filled from a single caste." He further claimed that the UP Public Service Commission chairman appointed during the SP government lacked qualifications to be a teacher.

Opposition's Critique and Government's Defence

Samajwadi Party leader Shivpal Singh Yadav countered the government's claims by pointing out inefficiencies in budget utilisation. He stated, "We have also brought supplementary budgets during our tenure and utilised them effectively. However, this government repeatedly presents supplementary budgets but fails to spend the allocated funds."

Shivpal Yadav also opposed the "One Nation, One Election" proposal, alleging it as an attempt to impose dictatorship and weaken democracy in India. The session witnessed intense exchanges between both sides over budget allocations and governance priorities.

Infrastructure Development and Future Plans

Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak defended the supplementary budget by asserting its role in strengthening infrastructure within Uttar Pradesh. He highlighted plans to enhance preparations for the upcoming Mahakumbh and improve law and order across all fronts.

The Chief Minister urged opposition parties to engage in constructive debates on public-centric issues to uphold Assembly dignity. He noted reopening closed sugar mills in Uttar Pradesh while assuring prompt payments to sugarcane farmers within a week.
