OMG 2: Hindu Outfit Offers Rs 10 Lakh Reward For Slapping Or Spitting On Akshay Kumar

As "OMG 2," Akshay Kumar's latest film, premiered in theaters on Friday, the Rashtriya Hindu Parishan Bharat has offered a reward to anyone who can slap or spit on the Bollywood actor for allegedly offending religious sentiments by portraying Lord Shiva in the movie. The organization also protested by burning effigies of Akshay Kumar and "OMG 2" posters in Agra and demonstrating outside theaters.

According to reports, Govind Parashar, the head of the Agra unit of Rashtriya Hindu Parishad, has allegedly offered a reward of Rs 10 lakh to anyone who slaps or spits on the face of the actor Akshay Kumar, who starred in the film. Parashar has also expressed dissatisfaction with Akshay's portrayal of Lord Shiva, particularly his look with dreadlocks and boots, buying kachoris, and bathing in a dirty pond. He claimed that such depictions tarnish the image of Lord Shiva.

The report indicates that the organisation has called for the film's ban by both the censor board and the central government.

Meanwhile, on its opening day, "OMG 2" collected Rs 10.26 crore at the box office, competing with Sunny Deol's "Gadar 2," which also released on the same day and managed to earn Rs 40 crore.

"OMG 2" also features Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam. The film garnered controversy due to its plot revolving around sex education in Indian schools, leading to the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) granting it an 'Adults Only' Certificate. Directed by Amit Rai, the movie follows the story of a common man, Kanti Sharan Mudgal (played by Pankaj Tripathi), a family man of faith who challenges the system to protect his son. Akshay Kumar's character, Lord Shiva, plays a pivotal mentorship role in guiding him through challenges.

Touted as a satirical comedy-drama, "OMG 2" is a highly anticipated sequel to the 2012 blockbuster "OMG- Oh My God!" starring Paresh Rawal and Akshay Kumar, which achieved both critical acclaim and commercial success.

The film is produced by Cape of Good Films, Ashwin Varde, Vipul D Shah, and Rajesh Bahl, with Chandraprakash Diwedi serving as the creative producer.
