OI Special Report: The Iconic Sarayu Ghat Of Ayodhya | Glimpses Of The Evening Aarti
As the sun sets over Ayodhya, casting a serene glow on the Naya Ghat along the historic Sarayu River, a dignified ambience envelopes the sacred site. Every evening, 365 days a year, the Namami Sarayu Seva Trust holds a divine spectacle - the evening aarti at Sarayu Ghat, a tradition that has graced Ayodhya for a decade.
At 6 pm during winter, three dedicated disciples of Rakesh Ji Raja Maharaj, representing the Namami Sarayu Seva Trust, stand on elevated platforms before the flowing Sarayu River, ready to commence the evening aarti.

Rakesh Ji Raja Maharaj, speaking on behalf of the team, explains how this ritual extends a warm welcome to individuals from all walks of life, transcending caste, creed and religion.
Amit Mishra, Abhishek Pandey, and Ajit Tiwari, the trio leading the aarti, infuse the ceremony with grandeur and devotion. They echo the sentiment that Hindu culture holds untold depths deserving further exploration, and people from far and wide should witness the profound significance of aarti along riverbanks, whether at the Ganga ghats in Varanasi or the Sarayu Ghat in Ayodhya.

Rakesh Ji Raja Maharaj and his team have not only upheld a tradition but have also become cultural ambassadors, sharing the essence of Hindu rituals with a wider audience.

The aarti, a symphony of lamps and chants of 'Jai Shri Ram,' serves as a spiritual beacon, inviting visitors to experience the fusion of devotion and performance.

For those visiting Ayodhya, a visit to the Naya Ghat at the banks of the Sarayu River promises a firsthand encounter with this grand spectacle - a harmonious convergence of unwavering devotion and the resplendent allure of the Sarayu river, encapsulating the spiritual essence of Ayodhya's cultural heritage.
