Countdown to the Inauguration

With the countdown to the inauguration of the grand project, also known as the Srimandir Parikrama Prakalpa, well underway, Chief Minister Patnaik has urged the people of Odisha to immerse themselves in the devotion of Lord Jagannath. The three-day yagna (religious ritual) marking the commencement of the project will begin on Makar Sankranti, January 15.

A Day of Celebration

In recognition of the momentous occasion, the state government has declared January 17 as a public holiday. Extending his warm wishes to the people of Odisha on the auspicious occasion of Makar Sankranti, Chief Minister Patnaik highlighted the profound significance of Lord Jagannath in the lives of Odias. He emphasized that Lord Jagannath embodies the unifying spirit that transcends religious boundaries and serves as the bedrock of Odisha's traditions, culture, and consciousness.

The Significance of Jagannath Culture

Chief Minister Patnaik expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to witness the inauguration of the Parikrama Prakalpa, a project dedicated to Lord Jagannath. He noted that for centuries, countless sadhus (holy men) and revered personalities have undertaken the 'Parikrama' (circumambulation) of the Jagannath temple as an act of deep religious devotion. The project, he explained, aims to facilitate a smooth and secure 'Parikrama' experience for the general public.

A Call for Joyous Celebration

In closing, Chief Minister Patnaik urged the people of Odisha to embrace the day as a radiant and joyous festival. He encouraged them to come together and celebrate the inauguration of the Temple Heritage Corridor Project with great enthusiasm and devotion.
