Nun Gangraped: National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) seeks reports from Mamata govt

Kolkata, March 18: The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has sought a report from the West Bengal Government on the nun rape issue.

The notice which was issued to the state government-led by Mamata Banerjee has sought a reply on all details relating to the incident in two weeks.

Stop Rape

The West Bengal government will have a lot of questions to answer in its notice. This would range from the motive behind the incident to the investigation progress.

Sloppy probe:

There have been allegations that the probe into the nun rape case has been sloppy in nature. There are allegations and counter allegations that the state has done enough in this case.

An elderly nun in West Bengal last week was raped which caused an outrage. The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi too had expressed shock over the incident and sought a detailed report on the issue.

Foul play suspected:

There have been several versions that have come out following this incident. Some have termed it as stage managed to embarrass the union government while others say that it was a case of pure contempt.

The West Bengal Minorities Commission had made a shocking statement in which blamed the Ghar Vapsi for the incident. It was an assault motivated by the issue of ghar wapsi the commission had also said.
