Nuh Violence: Haryana Deputy CM Blames 'Lack Of Assessment' By Administration
Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala on Tuesday said that there were administrative shortcomings in evaluating the situation in Nuh, where communal violence erupted on July 31 during a religious procession.
Chautala mentioned that the additional DGP (law and order) had approved a procession with 3,200 participants, and the police force was deployed accordingly.

"The administration's failure to adequately assess the entire episode is under investigation. The Nuh SP (now transferred) was on leave since July 22, and the one with additional charge couldn't evaluate it properly. The officials who granted permission for the procession also failed to assess it accurately," he told reporters, addressing questions about intelligence failures in assessing the situation.
Earlier, the JJP leader had stated that the organizers of the attacked religious procession in Nuh did not provide a proper estimation of the expected crowd to the district administration, possibly contributing to the violence.
Meanwhile, the state government has extended the suspension of mobile internet and SMS services in the district until August 11.
Communal clashes in Nuh resulted in the deaths of six people, including two home guards and a cleric, when a Vishva Hindu Parishad procession was attacked by mobs.
As of Tuesday, a total of 312 individuals have been arrested, and 142 FIRs have been filed in connection with the communal clashes in Haryana, according to Home Minister Anil Vij.
When asked about his knowledge of the July 31 incident, Chautala responded, "I learned about it at 1:30 pm...I spoke with ADGP (CID) and requested that SP Bhiwani be sent to the location (Nuh)."
Chautala emphasized that strict action would be taken against all involved in creating the atmosphere of planned violence, whether minor or major.
Regarding accusations of one-sided action, Chautala asserted that those arrested do not belong to a specific caste or community.
The deputy CM highlighted the government's efficiency in controlling the situation within seven hours, noting that in some other states, similar incidents have persisted for weeks.
Curfew restrictions are gradually being eased, and the situation is being managed effectively, Chautala stated.
On Tuesday, Gurugram police arrested three out of five individuals accused of setting fire to a mazar (shrine) in Khandsa village. These actions were allegedly influenced by social media posts related to the communal clashes that spread from the neighboring Nuh district.
Meanwhile, the Muslim organization Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind has appealed to the Supreme Court for directions to rehabilitate those whose homes were demolished by authorities in Nuh district. Despite the Punjab and Haryana High Court halting the demolition drive, the organization contends that it did not order compensation or rehabilitation for the displaced individuals.
A delegation of Haryana Congress led by its president Udai Bhan was prevented from entering violence-affected villages in Nuh district due to curfew restrictions and security concerns.
Nuh DSP Jai Prakash has been transferred to Panchkula, becoming the third officer after SP Varun Singla and Deputy Commissioner Prashant Panwar to be transferred from Nuh since the violence erupted on July 31.
Nuh SP Narender Bijarnia stated on Tuesday that a search operation was underway to apprehend those accused in connection with the violence.
