NSDC to Establish Skill Centre in Parkash Singh Badal's Native Village in Punjab
The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) plans to set up a skill centre in Badal village, Punjab, named after Shiromani Akali Dal leader and former chief minister Parkash Singh Badal. This initiative was announced by party chief Sukhbir Singh Badal during a gathering on the second death anniversary of his father.

The centre will offer specialised training to 2,000 students annually in Parkash Singh Badal's native village. Sukhbir Singh Badal expressed his dedication to following his father's principles and aims to make Punjab the leading state in India. He urged attendees to uphold the former chief minister's ideals and work towards strengthening the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) and serving Punjab selflessly.
Skill Centre Approval
Sukhbir Singh Badal highlighted that the NSDC has approved the proposal for establishing this skill centre in Badal village. "It is a matter of great happiness that the National Skill Development Corporation has approved the proposal for the establishment of a skill centre in Badal village," he stated. The land for this project will be provided by local authorities.
This centre will be named Sardar Parkash Singh Badal Skill India Centre. It will be the second such facility in India, following one in Bhubaneswar. The NSDC authorities have already handed over the approval letter to Sukhbir Singh Badal, confirming their support for this initiative.
Legacy of Parkash Singh Badal
Sukhbir Singh Badal described his father as "the CM of the masses" due to his widespread popularity across various communities. He emphasised that Parkash Singh Badal's leadership was marked by love and affection from all sections of society. The SAD leader reiterated his commitment to his father's vision for Punjab.
The establishment of this skill centre is seen as a tribute to Parkash Singh Badal's legacy. It aims to empower youth with skills necessary for employment and development. This initiative aligns with the SAD's mission to enhance educational opportunities and economic growth in Punjab.
The announcement reflects the party's ongoing efforts to honour Parkash Singh Badal's contributions and ensure his ideals continue to inspire future generations. By providing specialised training, the centre aims to equip students with skills that meet industry demands, thereby fostering economic progress in the region.
