Now, Hindu Outfit Wants ASI Survey Of Delhi's Jama Masjid Over Alleged 'Buried' Idols

Hindu Sena's national president, Vishnu Gupta, has addressed a letter to the Director-General of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), calling for a survey of Delhi's historic Jama Masjid. In his letter, Gupta alleged that idols of Hindu deities are buried within the mosque's premises, reported the Times of India.

Gupta further claimed that the Jama Masjid was built following the destruction of temples in Jodhpur and Udaipur, alleging that remnants of these temples, including idols, were used in the construction of the mosque's stairs to insult Hindus, supposedly under the orders of Aurangzeb.

Survey Of Delhi s Jama Masjid Now

Officials from Jama Masjid declined to comment on the matter.

Gupta argued that the ASI, as the responsible authority, should conduct a detailed examination of the mosque's structure. He claimed that numerous temple remnants and idols lie buried beneath its stairs, asserting that this situation impacts his religious sentiments and hinders his right to worship the deities believed to be buried there.

"Your office is requested to survey Jama Masjid, Delhi so that the idols of our deities can be preserved, concrete steps can be taken to reinstall them in the temple, and the truth about Aurangzeb can be revealed to the world," the letter stated.

When approached for comments, ASI spokesperson Nandini Bhattacharya Sahu stated that the organisation was unaware of the specific correspondence.
