Now, Case Against BJP's Malviya For 'Genocide' Tweet On TN Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin

In what could be considered a tit-for-tat move, a case has been filed against BJP's IT department head Amit Malviya over a tweet against Tamil Nadu minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, India Today reported.

On X (formerly Twitter), Malviya had accused Stalin of calling for the genocide of 80 per cent population of Bharat while attacking the Tamil Nadu minister's remarks on Sanatana Dharma.

Now, a DMK functionary named KAV Dhinakaran has lodged an FIR in Trichy against Malviya and the case has been booked under the IPC sections of 153, 153 (A), 504 and 505 (1) (b), the report said. "Despite Udhayanidhi Stalin issuing clarification over his remarks on Sanathana Dharma, with a political motive, Amit Malviya deliberately distorted the speech made by the minister to incite violence and hatred between two groups and to undermine communal harmony," the complaint said.

It all started after Udhayanidhi, son of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin, compared 'Sanatana Dharma' with Dengue and Malaria.

Addressing a gathering on Saturday, the son of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, said, "There are some things which we have to eradicate and we can't merely oppose. Mosquitoes, dengue fever, malaria, corona, all these are things which we cannot oppose, we have to eradicate them. Sanatanam is also like this."

The minister was speaking at an event organised by the Tamil Nadu Progressive Writers Artists Association on the theme of 'eradication of Sanatana'.

"I thank the organisers of this conference for giving me the opportunity to deliver a special address. You have kept the name of the conference as 'Sanatana Abolition Conference' rather than 'Anti-Sanatana Conference', I appreciate that," news agency ANI quoted Udhayanidhi as saying. "A few things cannot be opposed, that should be abolished only. We can't oppose dengue, mosquitoes, malaria, or corona. We have to eradicate this, that's how we have to eradicate Sanatana. Rather opposing Sanatana it should be eradicated," Udhayanidhi was quoted as saying.

Responding to Stalin's remarks, Malviya said, "Udhayanidhi Stalin, son of Tamilnadu CM MK Stalin, and a minister in the DMK Govt, has linked Sanatana Dharma to malaria and dengue... He is of the opinion that it must be eradicated and not merely opposed. In short, he is calling for genocide of 80% population of Bharat, who follow Sanatan Dharma. DMK is a prominent member of the Opposition block and a long standing ally of the Congress. Is this what was agreed in the Mumbai meet?"

Responding to Malviya's tweet, Junior Stalin said that he never called for genocide of people who are following 'Sanatana Dharma'. "Sanatan Dharma is a principle that divides people in the name of caste and religion. Uprooting Sanatan Dharma is upholding humanity and human equality. I stand firmly by every word I have spoken. I spoke on behalf of the oppressed & marginalized, who suffer due to the Sanatan Dharma," he wrote on X.

On the other hand, an FIR was registered here against DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin and Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge's son Priyank Kharge for allegedly outraging religious feelings, police said on Wednesday.

Stalin was booked for his call to eradicate Sanatan Dharma and Kharge for backing his remark, they said. The two were booked under sections 295 A (deliberate and malicious acts to outrage religious feelings) and 153 A (promoting enmity between different religious groups) of the IPC at Civil Lines Police Station here on Tuesday.
