Don't eat cow meat, it hurts sentiments and causes diabetes: Ajmer dargah chief
The Supreme Court had said in 1987 that under no law, the Diwan of the Ajmer dargah can be removed.
"My brother has no authority to remove me," said the spiritual head of the Ajmer dargah, Syed Zainul Abedin. He was reacting after reports of him being sacked by his brother following remarks on beef. Abedin had said that all Muslims should give up beef to respect Hindu sentiments.

On Wednesday, Abedin's brother Sayed Alludin Alimi said that he had sacked his brother as diwan of the shrine. "It is a manufactured plot against me," Abedin said while quoting a Supreme Court judgment. He said that in 1987 the SC had said Alimi had no authority to remove him. The court had said there was no law under which he could be removed.
Abedin said that he had always been the target of extremists due to his outspoken nature. "The news of me being sacked is distorted and some news channels are telecasting fake news. Small minded extremists cannot digest my statements," he said.
Once again, speaking about eating beef, he said by not eating cow meat, we are not depriving ourselves of anything. "In fact it causes diabetes. I appeal for a complete ban on cow meat," he said.
