Noida Police Arrest Four, Recover Stolen Two-Wheelers in Major Crackdown
In a significant crackdown on vehicle theft in the Delhi-NCR region, Noida Police have successfully apprehended four individuals suspected of auto-lifting, leading to the recovery of a substantial number of stolen vehicles. The operation, conducted by the police personnel from Sector-113 and Sector-39 police stations, resulted in the seizure of 33 two-wheelers and an e-rickshaw, as announced by Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Noida, Vidya Sagar Mishra.

The arrests were executed in two distinct operations. The first operation saw Anoop Mavi, aged 50, and Dev Kumar, aged 35, also known as Deva, being captured following an exchange of gunfire with the police team from Sector-113 on Friday night. This encounter led to the recovery of 19 motorcycles. In a separate operation, Animesh alias Anni, 19, and Shivam, 20, were detained by the personnel from the Sector-39 police station. From them, 11 motorcycles, three scooters, and an e-rickshaw were recovered.
DCP Mishra described the arrested individuals as notorious thieves who not only supplied stolen vehicles upon demand but also sold them in markets known for dealing in such goods. The police have successfully linked over half of these recovered vehicles to theft cases previously registered at various police stations across the NCR.
Anoop Mavi is no stranger to law enforcement, with a criminal record that includes 42 cases registered against him in Ghaziabad and various Delhi police stations. His accomplice, Dev Kumar alias Deva, has been named in nine cases. Their criminal activities span across robbery, vehicle theft, attempt to murder, and violations under the Excise Act and the Arms Act.
This operation underscores the persistent efforts of Noida Police in combating vehicle thefts and bringing perpetrators to justice. The successful recovery of stolen vehicles not only aids in curtailing this form of crime but also assists in restoring these assets to their rightful owners.
