No Plans for Marriage, Will Return Soon: Indian Woman Clarifies Her Visit to Pakistan

Anju, a 34-year-old married woman from Uttar Pradesh residing in Rajasthan's Alwar, traveled to Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province to meet her 29-year-old Facebook friend, Nasrulla. The two had connected on social media about three years ago.

Anju did not inform anyone about her travel plans to the Islamic country, but she assured that she would be returning home within the next 2 to 4 days, as reported by India Today. She emphasized that her decision to visit Pakistan was of her own accord, and she feels safe in the hilly region.

Contrary to media reports, Anju stated that her trip to Pakistan was for sightseeing and to attend a wedding, and she had followed proper legal procedures for her visit. She explicitly mentioned that she has no intentions of marrying Nasrulla.

Anju revealed that she wanted to separate from her husband due to their strained relationship from the beginning and that her primary concern was her children. She disclosed that she has known Nasrulla for the past 2 to 3 years, and she had informed her mother and sister about him right from the start.

Nasrulla also confirmed that Anju is on a visit to Pakistan, and they have no plans to marry. He stated that Anju's visa is set to expire on August 20, after which she will return to her country. While in Pakistan, Anju is staying in a separate room in Nasrulla's home with other female family members.

Initially, Anju was held in custody by the Pakistan police, but after verifying her travel documents, she was released. On the Indian side, a team of Rajasthan police visited her house in Bhiwadi to inquire about her after media reports surfaced.

Notably, Anju's story bears some similarities to the case of Seema Ghulam Haider, a Pakistani woman who sneaked into India to be with her Facebook friend and eventually married him in Nepal. Noida Police has sent recovered documents from Seema Haider to the Pakistan embassy in Delhi for identity verification.

The Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) of the Uttar Pradesh Police has questioned Seema and her Indian partner Sachin along with Sachin's father, Netrapal Singh, following which various items were recovered from Haider, including passports and identity cards.
