The families of 39 missing Indians in Iraq recently met Sushma Swaraj with the hope of getting some information about their kin's whereabouts, has once again turned to despair.
There is no confirmation whether the 39 Indians missing in Iraq since last two years are dead or alive, Iraq's Ambassador to India Fakhri Al-Issa has said.
I have no information on missing Indians, hope they are somewhere alive and safe. Not only 39 Indians, thousands of Iraqi nationals are also missing. ISIS may be using them as hostages or slave labours," he said.

The families of 39 missing Indians in Iraq recently met Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj with the hope of getting some information about their kin's whereabouts, has once again turned to despair.
On July 15, reacting to reports that the families of the hostages were trying to locate their kin after the liberation of Mosul from ISIS forces by Iraq, Sushma Swaraj had assured of all the help in locating the nationals.
"Iraq is not fighting for Iraq alone. The envoy said Iraq would welcome India's humanitarian assistance in the form of medical treatment for wounded Iraqi soldiers and civilians.
It's not going to be easy to rebuild Mosul as there has been destruction of about 60-70% of city. Estimated figure for rebuilding the city would be around 100 billion dollars, this is beyond the Iraqi ability, he said.
It is waiting for all other countries to come in and participate to build Mosul. India could play major part in reconstruction in Iraq, not only Mosul but all liberated areas occupied and destroyed by Daesh, he added.
