Nitish Kumar Govt Passes Bihar Public Examination (Prevention Of Unfair Means) Bill 2024
CM Nitish Kumar led Bihar Government on Wednesday passed the Bihar Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Bill 2024 in the assembly. As per the Public Examination bill, anyone caught using unfair means during public exam or any case of paper leak happens, then person proven guilty may face imprisonment for up to 10 years and a fine of Rs 1 crore.
These stringent rules have been introduced to curb paper leaks and rigging. All crimes under The Bihar Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Bill 2024 will marked as cognisable and non-bailable offense.

Talking to the media, Bihar Minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary said, "Bihar government has made a strict law against paper leak. With this law, the future of aspirants and students will be secured. The law proposes 10 years imprisonment and a minimum Rs 1 crore fine for the criminals."
A similar anti-cheating bill has already been passed by Centre to stop unfair means of cheating.
Recently, a team of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested 4 MBBS students of AIIMS Patna in connection with the NEET-UG paper leak case.
The sleuths also arrested key accused Pankaj Kumar alias Aditya, a 2017-batch civil engineer from the National Institute of Technology in Jamshedpur, for allegedly stealing the NEET-UG paper, after which, a huge row erupted in entire country.
