Lalu said,''For past 15-20 years, I have been fighting cases in courts. I was sentenced in a hurry. There was a conspiracy between Nitish Kumar & BJP. This is nothing but political vendetta."

Further the RJD chief said, "Nitish Kumar is a huge opportunist leader. His anti-BJP drive was all drama. He used to swear that he will not return to BJP. Bihar's mandate was against Narendra Modi and BJP and now Nitish has joined hands with the BJP," he said.

Lamenting further, Lalu said, "Humne Nitish ko tilak laga ke kaha jao raaj karo, lekin wo to Bhashmashur nikla. (I put tilak on his forehead and asked him to rule the state but he became demon). I had no greed in my heart, else why would I nominate him as the chief minister."

Nitish Kumar's dramatic resignation and his subsequent decision to join the BJP again has triggered a massive political storm in Bihar.
