Nitin Nabin Odisha visit: BJP president meets ministers and party office bearers

BJP president Nitin Nabin arrived in Odisha for his first visit to the BJP-ruled state since becoming national president. He was welcomed in Bhubaneswar by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and Odisha BJP leaders, including Manmohan Samal. Meetings and organisational training sessions are scheduled across Bhubaneswar and Puri on 18 May.

BJP national president Nitin Nabin reached Odisha on Sunday and planned party meetings for May 18. This marked Nabin’s first trip to the BJP-ruled state after taking the national post. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and Odisha BJP president Manmohan Samal received Nabin at Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar.

The Odisha BJP said Nabin would hold organisational meetings and training sessions in Bhubaneswar and Puri on Monday. The party also said strategic discussions would involve senior leaders and office-bearers. It said the plan included reviewing ongoing activities across the state. Party sources said Nabin was scheduled to return to Delhi on Monday evening.

In a statement, the Odisha BJP said the visit aimed to strengthen the party’s organisational base. The party said it would also energise grassroots workers and shape a new direction for future work. The programme was described as a series of high-level organisational meetings and intensive training programmes.

Nitin Nabin’s Monday schedule began with a State Core Committee meeting at 8:30 am. Two hours later, Nabin was to launch the BJP’s Bhubaneshwar District training camp. The party said these sessions would be part of the day’s wider organisational engagements in the state.

At 1:15 pm, Nabin was scheduled to travel to Puri and seek blessings of Lord Jagannath. Nabin was also set to take Mahaprasad at the home of Sambit Patra. Patra is Puri Lok Sabha MP and BJP national spokesperson, according to the schedule shared.

After returning to Bhubaneswar, Nabin was to meet state office-bearers and frontal unit presidents at 4 pm. Two hours later, Nabin was scheduled to chair a meeting with members of the Council of Ministers of Odisha. The meetings were expected to include ministers and party office-bearers.
