Niira Radia case: CBI to produce tape transcripts within 2 months

New Delhi, Oct 17:The Apex court has directed the CBI to investigate the 15 conversations of Nira Radia, who is a corporate lobbyists, suspecting that government officials may also be involved in the scam.

A senior lawyer said,"a collusion between government officials and private enterprises is suspected by the Supreme Court."

The conversations have reportedly been recorded since months earlier as part of tax investigation, clearing the cloud over "deep-rooted malice" and "corrupt means being adopted by private companies to extract gains", said the judge.

Meanwhile, the court has given CBI two months time to produce the tape transcripts. The next hearing on this case is likely to be on the 17th of December .
