Bengaluru, Mar 16: The Karnataka government is mulling deportation of Nigerian nationals involved in drugs cases, state Home Minister G Parameshwara said on Thursday.
"We are planning to deport the Nigerian nationals involved in drugs cases from various parts of Karnataka to their country," he said in the state Legislative Council.

"The Nigerian nationals extend their stay even after the expiry of their visas, because of cases pending against them. Therefore, we are planning to facilitate their deportation," Parameshwara said while replying to BJP's V Somanna.
He also said the government has sent circulars to colleges giving admissions to foreign nationals asking them to verify their credentials.
"We have directed the colleges to furnish the details of the students to the respective police stations and verify their credentials before admitting them," he added.
The Home Minister said 23 drugs-related cases have been filed against Nigerian nationals in the state since 2015, while 31 persons have been arrested.
